Epilepsy Foundation Lending LibraryLearning more about epilepsy and its management is essential to living successfully with this disorder or to parent or assist a loved one in doing so. The Foundation recognizes the need to have current books, videos, DVDs and pamphlets available on topics ranging from seizure recognition and first aid to the Ketogenic Diet. Living with epilepsy for years may still leave you with questions that are yet to be answered. Knowing when and to whom to disclose your epilepsy is a very individual decision but watching a video showing how others have chosen to do this may be helpful in determining your own manner of doing so. The experiences of others or books authored by leading epilepsy neurologists may provide just the information that you have been seeking. The lending library is located at the Foundation Office and is available during normal business hours. There is no fee for loaned materials but persons checking out books or videos are asked to return them within two weeks to make them available to others. The donation of books that may be helpful to others is always appreciated and stretch the limited funds that the Foundation has for this purpose. For individuals who are unable to travel to the office, please call the Foundation for assistance in having materials mailed. An evaluation survey accompanies all materials loaned. Its completion and return is helpful in learning your degree of satisfaction and any suggestions that will aid in insuring that the library meets your needs. |
