Parents Support Group

We are looking for parents who are coping with the challenges of having a child with epilepsy to join our support group. The group is informal and there is always room for more families. 

The goal of this support group is to help each other accept and learn how to cope and manage the day to day challenges of living with a child with a seizure disorder. We hope to spread the word that there are many children who are living well with epilepsy and to know families are not alone. We share our stories and learn updated research to help families live a more functional life. 

By developing relationships and friendships, the Parent Support Group will become even stronger. Join the parent support group on the last Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8pm. Meet with other parents who are going through the same challenges you are and learn new ways of coping with this complex disorder. Contact Karen Brown at 614-315-0572, kbrown@epilepsy-ohio.org for more information

Couples Group

The Foundation, in response to a need identified by parents, has developed a new program which addresses the issues that arise for couples raising a child with epilepsy, especially when accompanied by co-occurring health problems or intractable seizures. 

The many demands that are made on parents of a child with a chronic health problem may have a significant effect on the marital relationship and present the partners with new and multiple challenges. This new group hopes to offer the opportunity for couples to discuss these issues and to share strategies and successes in coping with them.
